William Clayton "Peyton" McDaniel 81 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord January 13, 2013 at CAMC General Division. He retired from the City of Charleston with 16 years of service, loved gardening and taking nature walks in the woods. He was a member of South Charleston Christian Church. Preceding him in death were his parents William D. and Mercil Kidd McDaniel and his wife Marjorie McDaniel. Survivors are his sons, William Clay McDaniel of Toledo, Ohio and Douglas Wayne McDaniel of Tennessee; daughters, Barbara Jean of Smithville, WV and Linda Diane of Boone County; step-sons, Harold William and Dennis William Adkins both of Charleston; step-daughters, Dreama Teaberry of Eskdale, Caroline Harris of Charleston and Fay Burch of College Station, Texas. Several Grandchildren and a special friend Lorna Hollen of Charleston. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Pastor Dianna Vinscavich officiating. Entombment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services also on Wednesday.
