Obituary

William L. "Bill" Marion, 96, of Charleston passed away January 22, 2011. He was preceded in death by his Loving Wife of 62 years Iona Oxley Marion; Son, Bob "Butch" Marion and his Parents, Harrison and Cora Coffman Marion; Step-Mother, Emma Marion. Bill was a Retired Pipe Fitter from Union Carbide with 32 years of service. Attended Wesley Chapel Church, Charleston, where he sang in the Choir. He was a 50 year member of South Charleston Masonic Lodge #168 AF&AM. He was a Gardner and a Fisherman. He was a Loving Father and Papa. He is survived by his Daughters, Linda Reed and her husband I.B. of Marmet, Nancy Songer, and Ginny Marion of Melbourne, Florida; Brother, Elbert "Al" Marion and wife Rosemary of St. Albans; Sisters, Nellie Jones of New Orleans, LA; Esta Bostic of St. Albans; Brother-in-law, Cecil Oxley; Sister-in-laws, Carlene Oxley, Mary Lu McElfish, and Palmajune Marion of Charleston. 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 29, 2011 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor John Mason officiating. Burial will Masonic Graveside Rites will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests Memorial Donations to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd.W., Charleston, WV 25312-2536, or Marmet Library Fund, 9303 Oregon Avenue, Marmet, WV 25315.
