William Darrell Harrison, 75 of Charleston passed away September 17, 2012. William retired from the State Police Academy with 29 years of service and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the beginning of the Cold War. He was an avid Woodcarver making Picture Frames, Clocks and Jewelry Boxes and loved geneology. He was a Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harrison Avis and Dessie Alice Tyler Harrison; brother, Dennis Harrison and sister, Wanda Hall. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years Arlene Harrison; daughters, Sonja Ann Harrison of Sissonville and Denise Hall and husband Jim of Dunbar; brothers, Clifton F. Harrison and Kester "Kat" Harrison; sister, Brenda C. Robinson. Grandchildren, Lee and Zachary Hall; Great Grandson, Zayden Hall. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday September 20, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Thomas E. Toliver, Jr. officiating. A gathering of friends will be one hour prior to services also on Thursday.
