Obituary

William Earl Casdorph William Earl Casdorph was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on October 6, 2014. He was born June 13, 1923, and was the son of John W. and Talma Casdorph. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis Hill Casdorph; his parents; three brothers; four sisters, his son, Gale Allen Casdorph; infant son, Robert Clayton Casdorph; and son-in-law Tommy Brewer. Left to treasure his memory are his children, Danny Casdorph of Charleston; Peggy Lyons (David) of Charleston; Carolyn Brewer of Charleston; Jimmy Casdorph of St. Albans; Jackie Smith (Dale) of St. Albans; his spiritual son Terry Withrow of Cross Lanes; his sister, Garnett Kozielec; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was retired from Union Carbide. After dedicating his life to Jesus in 1953, he went on to serve as deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher, and worked in the bus minister. He faithfully attended Maranatha Fellowship for over 30 years. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to his good friends, Troy Eggleton, Amy Thomas, and Tammy Shue. Also a special thank you to Scott Casdorph of HospiceCare. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Maranatha Fellowship, St. Albans, and officiated by Pastor Darren Powell, Dr. James Wright, and Pastor Terry Hogue. Burial with military rites provided by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin will be at Casdorph Cemetery, Charleston.
