Watson T. Terry, Jr., 73, of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Mr. Terry was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1961 to 1964. He retired from Columbia Gas and served on the Charleston Planning Committee. He was chairman of the Deacon Board at Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Washington Lodge #4 F&AM of Prince Hall Jurisdiction. Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Larcell Lewis Terry; grandmother, Mary Lewis; and brothers, Kenneth Terry, Beechie Lewis, Larry Lewis and Jeffrey Lewis. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Judith M. Terry; father, Watson T. Terry, Sr. of Montgomery; sons, Patrick Terry and wife, Stephanie of Dunbar, and Michael Terry of Charleston; grandchildren, Jordan M. Terry and Jada L. Terry, both of Dunbar; sisters, Paulette Lewis of Montgomery, Renee Lewis of Montgomery, Sylvia Sanders and husband, John of Reston, VA, Diane Lewis of Montgomery, Karen Mullins and husband, Charles of Charleston, Tammy Saunders of Montgomery, Renee Jackson of Montgomery, and Bonnie Peoples and husband, William of Charlotte, NC; and brother, Billy Terry and wife, Cindy of Temple Hills, MD. Also surviving are a special aunt, Christine Lewis, three special sisters-in-law, Audrey, Juanita and Karon; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral service will be 12:30 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 1530 3rd Ave., Charleston, with Rev. Dr. Braxton Broady officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar. Visitation will be from 11:30 until service time Tuesday, also at the church.
