Virginia Frances Jones, born November 15, 1941 left this earth on October 12, 2023. Her suffering is no more.
She will be missed by her family. She leaves behind her amazing sister Loraine Chambers, her daughter Arlene Thomas and husband David Thomas, her daughter Lovada Jones, and her daughter Marsha Aubrey. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kennyta Strickland, Scott Jones, Justin Jones and wife Becca Jones, and Marshall Aubrey.
Virginia also leaves behind a huge legacy of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that she adored wholeheartedly. Virginia leaves behind numerous cousins whom she also loved so deeply.
Virginia was preceded in death by her mother and father, Cephas and Hazel Sansom, brothers Wetzel Sansom, Eugene Sansom, Basil Sansom and son Edgell Jones. Born and raised in Boone County, WV then moving to Kanawha County, Virginia graduated high school from Charleston High, and began working as a cashier and continued for over 60+ years. Virginia's work ethic was second to none.
The family would like to thank her countless loyal customers over the years from Nite Owl Supermarket, Faschek and SaveALot for recognizing and appreciating her day after day. It was a great blessing for her to introduce you all to the family seemingly every time we were out and about. Virginia also had a special affinity for all things Elvis and the Pillsbury Doughboy. Her collection of both was quite impressive. Lastly, the family would like to send a special thank you to long time family friend Leslie Kenney and the amazing nurses at Genesis Valley Health Center in Spring Hill, WV for their unwavering care and support.
A celebration of life will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2023 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 Washington St. W., Charleston. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at Noon on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider donating to a Dementia or Alzheimer's Research Organization or perform a kind gesture and donate to your local food pantry.
