Obituary
Vernese Burdette, 82, of Charleston, passed away, March 9, 2018, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Burdette; parents, Tom and Minnie Newhouse; infant son, Tommy Burdette; Brother, Fred; sisters, Ruth Burdette, Lucy Caldwell, Sadie Skeens, Emmaline Argabrite.
Vernese was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Kay Good of Sissonville, Debra Burdette of Charleston, Kelli Slater and husband Charlie of Charleston; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Dola Newhouse; sister, Elizabeth Shively.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor Jerry Naylor officiating. Burial will be in John Harve Burdette Cemetery, Legg Fork, Sissonville.
Visitation with the family will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
