Verna Leatha Osborne
Verna Leatha Osborne, 57, nee Dodson, passed away at home on October 7, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer.A lifelong resident of Charleston,
she was born on April 14, 1964 to the late Vernon Thomas Dodson and Millie Jane McCracken.She graduated from the Garnet Institute with a
degree in Accounting, but her years in the workforce were spent in Customer Service at the Charleston Newspapers and Policy Studies, Inc.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Hersey Osborne, Jr,; sons, Jay Varney (Wendy Aguilar) of Cincinnati, OH and Chris Varney of Denver,
CO; sister, Deborah Parsons (Ray) of Nitro, WV; brother, Rick McCracken (Shirley) of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Juan Pantoja, Carlos
Pantoja and Annais Varney of Cincinnati, OH; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of life will be held at noon, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral home with the Rev. Scott Davis
officiating.Private family burial will follow in Osborne Family Cemetery, Seth, WV.Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services.
Although none are expected, flowers and gifts can be received at the funeral home; and if you wish to make a donation, please contact Chris Varney
