Velda Summers Haynes, 79, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2023 in Cedar Ridge Nursing Center after a long illness.

Velda was born November 8, 1943 in Charleston to the late William G. Summers and Cordia Frances Phillips Summers. In addition to her parents Velda was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira G. Haynes; daughter, Bobbie Jo Haynes; sister, Lilly M. Summers; and step-daughters, Diana Masterson, and Dreama Haynes.

Left to cherish her memory are step-daughters, Darlena Smith, and Deborah Haynes; best friend and caregiver, Larry Plumley; five step-grandchildren, and one great-step-grandchild.

Service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 W. Washington St., Charleston. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
