U. Grant Stricklen 76 of Elkview passed away August 6, 2013 at Hubbard Hospice House. Grant retired from United Airlines Customer Service Department with 45 years of service; Attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where he sang in the Church Choir. He was a 1955 Graduate of Elkview High School; was a United State Marine Corp. Veteran and Participated in the Senior Olympics. Preceding him in death were his former wife, Sandra Nadine Young; parents James Othor and Harriet Elizabeth Humphreys Stricklen; brother, Jim Stricklen and sister, Helen Pounders. Survivors include sons, Mark Stricklen (Jennifer); Chip Stricklen (Jessica) and Barry Stricklen (Becky) all of Sissonville; daughter, Renee Conley (Ricky) of Sissonville; brother, Gary Stricklen (Pat) of Nevada; sisters, Eloise Robertson of Colorado; Phyllis Bulich of Pinch; Janice Jett of Ohio and Sharon Yanero (Dan) of Charleston. Grandchildren, Chrissy, David, Mark, Alisia, Michael, John, Alexis, Brock and Hanna. Great Granddaughter, Carlea. A host of family and friends are also left to mourn his passing. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday August 10, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Al Mendez and Pastor Michael Todorovich officiating. Burial will follow in Stricklen Cemetery, Frame, WV. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
