Trilla Jones Wilkinson Trilla Jones Wilkinson, 58, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord May 3, 2010, after a long courageous battle of cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jane Lilly Jones. She always loved spending time with her grandchildren by babysitting, watching ballgames, recitals, and playing games., she also enjoyed sunbathing and gospel music. She graduated from Sissonville High School in 1969, received her Bachelors Degree in music from Morris Harvey College, and her masters degree from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. Trilla started her teaching career in 1975 in Jackson County, then she was a special education teacher at Woodrow Wilson and Stonewall Jackson Junior High School. In 1990 she went on disability/retirement due to her illness and continued to work with students by volunteering at Sissonville High School, Bonham Elementary, Kenna Elementary, and Flinn Elementary. She was a member of Fisher Memorial Church, since 1965 where she was involved with various musical programs. Surviving are; her husband of 37 years, John P. Wilkinson; daughter, Jessica Stricklen and husband, Chip of Sissonville, their children, John, Alexis, and Brock; son, Jamison Wilkinson and wife, Jamie of Charleston, their children, Lilly and Wylie; father and step-mother, Monroe C. and Evelyn Jones of Charleston; brother, the Rev. Aaron Jones and wife, Susan of Goldtown; step-sister, Kelly Riffe and husband, Henry of Charleston. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Fisher Memorial Church, Goldtown, with her brother, the Rev. Aaron D. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Jenkins Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
