Tressa "Ann" Monday, 71, a faithful Christian, friend and employee, passed away Sunday night October 20, 2013. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virgie Monday. Ann is survived by a host of friends including Frankie Moore, Jerry Smith, Sherry Blake, Kay Coon, April Snodgrass, Patty Carte and Olivia Teel. She is also survived by her 4 "furry boys and girls" (as she called them), Baby Bops, Blackie, Snuggles and Sonny Boy. Ann retired from Kanawha County Schools as a secretary. She loved her job and was devoted to the service of Kanawha County students and teachers. When the doctor came in and told her of her condition, she looked at the friends by her side and said, "Ladies, now don't be upset. I've had 71 great years with great friends and I'm going to Heaven." That was her testimony about her Lord. She passed from this world with assurance that she was headed "home" to be with her Savior. Ann's hope and desire was that her life touched the lives of others in hopes that they, too, would give their lives to the Lord who she loved. Ann loved her church, Starcher Baptist, and was a dedicated member, Sunday School secretary and deaconess. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor David Workman officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service also at the funeral home Wednesday.
