Thomas Andrew Oakley, 85, of Charleston, passed away on December 20, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carla Jean Oakley who he was married to for 45 years and his son David A. Oakley. Thomas was a retired Master Sergeant from the WV Air National Guard. He also served as a Police Officer in Washington D.C. and Savannah, Georgia. Although, he served as a Police Officer, he spent many months in Facebook jail. Tom was an animal lover and enjoyed the outdoors in his younger years.

Tom is survived by his son Michael Oakley and wife Jennifer, of Charleston and his daughter Michelle "Mitchie" Oertel and husband Steven, of Glenside, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael Oakley, II, Matthew Oakley, Stephen Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Zachary Oertel, Austin Oertel, Hunter Oertel, Breanna Eads, Jean Oakley, Tiffani Oakley, Annie Oakley, and David Oakley. Tom also had 8 great grandchildren.

Service will be 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 W. Washington Street, Charleston. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, WV.
