Thomas E. McCown, 84, of Charleston passed away July 25, 2011, at his home. He was retired from Wendling Meat Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gohean and Hallie McCown, two brothers and four sisters. Thomas is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emogene McCown; sons, Thomas E. McCown, Jr., and his wife Angie of Charleston and Frankie McCown and his wife Wendy of Lacrosse, WI; daughters, Susan Godwin, of Portsmouth, Ohio, Tena Marie Miller of McBee, SC and Brenda Wotherspoon and her husband Tom of Delray Beach, FL; step-daughters, Bonnie Menninger and her husband Joe of Charleston and Barbara Scott of Shoals, NC. 11 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Graveside Services and Burial will be 2:30 PM Thursday July 28, 2011 at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes with the Rev. Tom Moore officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 2 PM at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home.
