Teresa Lynn Hammonds Young, 64, of Charleston, went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2026. She was born on December 22, 1961, to the late Mansford and Wanda Hammonds.

Teresa was a 35-year employee with West Virginia State DMV. She loved her work family. She was a selfless, caring, loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

In addition to her parents, Teresa is preceded in death by her grandparents Henry and Juanita McClanahan and Ida Hammonds, her sister Arlie Marie Hammonds and uncles and aunts.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers Ronnie and Danny Hammonds, children Justin Young (Sarah), and Crystal Dailey (Ron). The joy of her life, her grandchildren, Brantley, Brody, Benjamin, Makiah, Gavin and Arlie. Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins, along with her niece and nephew. Her dear friend who she considered her sister Jude Colebank.
