Shirley J. Keene, 70, of Kanawha Two-Mile passed away peacefully after a long illness at Hubbard Hospice House August 3, 2013. Shirley was a 1960 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School where she was elected Miss Secretary 1960. She retired from AEL (Edvantia) after 28 years of employment. After retiring, she spent the majority of her time caring for her two grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Keene was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Flota Nottingham Wiseman; grandparents, John and Rosie Nottingham; sister, Darlene Wiseman; and nephew, Matthew Walker. Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Howard Keene; children, Rick Keene, and Heather Osborn and husband, Evan all of Charleston; grandchildren, Amelia and Holden Osborn, both of Charleston; sisters, Janet Wiseman and Brenda Jarrett, both of Charleston, Marlene Walker of Sissonville and Rose Swenson of Calif.; and brothers, Joe Wiseman, John Wiseman, Buck Wiseman and Eddie Wiseman, all of Charleston. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and friends left to mourn her passing. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Layne Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, August 6, from 6-8 PM also at the funeral home.
