Shelby Eugene "Gene" Murray, 81, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord March 29, 2010 after a short illness. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Member of St. Albans Moose Since 1981. He was an avid Bowler having bowled a 300 Game April of 1978. He enjoyed his Family and Friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents, John and Elsie Murray; Son, Gregory Clinton Murray; Brother John L. Hamric; Sisters, Reba Cavender and Betty Murray. He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years Delta Murray; children, Gene Murray and wife Shelly, Albert Murray and wife Linda, John Murray and wife Crickett and Eric Murray and wife Pamela, and daughter Regina Murray, all of Sissonville. Grandchildren, Eric Stephen, Scott, Jason, Lydia, Love, Joshua, Ryan, Kenneth, and Amber. 7 Great Grandchildren. Special Family, Jimmie and Anita Whittington; Special Grandson, Addam and wife Jen. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2010at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Benny Bess officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Rites provided by American Legion Post #73 will be in Fairview Cemetery, Given. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM where a service will be held at 7:30 PM by St. Albans Moose.
