Sarah Phlorine Campbell, 89, of Dunbar, WV, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She was born on August 21, 1935, to the late Thomas Jefferson Ferrell and Elitha Curry Ferrell.

Sarah retired from teaching after 30 years at Mingo County Schools. She was a member of the Charleston Mountain Missionary Church. Sarah and her husband, Bill, were instrumental in helping several churches in their community, having prayer meetings in their home. She helped start the 1st Special Needs School in Mingo County. Sarah loved God, the church, and volunteering.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Campbell, and four brothers: Thomas Ferrell, Sammy Ferrell, Marvin Ferrell, and Cloyd Ferrell.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Jacqueline Hill (Dennie) and Michael Canterbury (Diana), three brothers Clyde Ferrell, Harve Ferrell (Gertrude), and Bernard Ferrell (Pam), and two sisters Velma Russell (Woody) and Lucinda White (Kenny), three grandchildren Melissa Curry (Jeff), Michael T. Canterbury (Karlie) and Ariel Showalter, seven great-grandchildren Cameron, Carter, Noah, Trey, Maxx, Kobe and Draven, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Will Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 p.m. before the service.
