Ronald Keith Carter, 78, of Sissonville, graduated to Heaven on April 25, 2015. Keith was a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from Volkswagen of America. He was also a long time member of Maranatha Baptist Church and was a missionary to Costa Rica for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Renee Ann Scott Carter; daughter, Sharon Garnes; brothers, Clifford, Junior and Bill Carter; and sisters, Opal Jones, Goldie Canterbury, Wanda Burdette and Betty Fredrick. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Carter; son, Ronald Keith Carter, II and wife, Evelyn of Costa Rica; daughter, Karen Garnes and husband, Jimmy of Sissonville; son-in-law, Junior Garnes of Sissonville; and grandchildren, Joshua Garnes and companion, Sara, Jeremiah Garnes, Jonathan Garnes and companion, Cierra, and Danielle Garnes, all of Sissonville, Byron Daniel Carter, Raquel Compos and Glenda Compos, all of Costa Rica. Funeral service will be 7:00 PM Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Maranatha Baptist Church, Charleston with Pastor Bill Bartlett officiating. Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday at Sissonville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until service time also at the church.
