Obituary

John Aliff, of Charleston passed away November 11, 2014 at the Chillicothe Veterans Hospital, Hopewell House after a long illness. He was born in Charleston April 9, 1945 and graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1963. Soon after he joined the US Army and was stationed in Korea, during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Romeo J. Aliff, Sr., and Eunice Utterback Aliff. Also preceding in death were his brother, William Aliff, and sisters, Annette Peters and Cheryl Kessell. Survivors include his sister, Jeanette Rucker and husband Donnie, brothers, Richard Aliff and Gary Aliff and wife Julie all of Charleston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday November 14 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Benny Bess officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories with military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin. Escort and flag line will be provided by Patriot Guard Riders of WV. The family acknowledges special thanks to the Doctors and amazing staff at the Hopewell House and the VA Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio for the loving care given to our brother and becoming a part of our family.
