Romeo J. Aliff, Sr., 89, of Charleston was born February 3, 1920, son of the late William Patterson and Lula Pearl Aliff, and joined the love of his life and eternal Savior June 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Utterback Aliff; son, William F. Aliff; daughters, Annette Peters and Cheryl Kessel; brothers, Homer and Giles Aliff; sisters, Lou Verna and Sirelda. He was retired from Valley Bell Dairy; Member and Deacon at Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving him are Sons, Romeo Aliff, Jr., of Chillicothe, Ohio; Richard Aliff of Charleston; Gary Aliff and his wife Julie of Charleston; Daughter, Janette Rucker and her husband Donnie of Charleston; Son-in-law, Phillip Peters of Dunbar; and Daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sue Aliff of Pinch; Brothers, Edsel "Red" Aliff of Virginia; and Roscoe of Alderson; Sisters, Daisy Ballengee of Texas; Emajean Canterbury of Ronceverte, Theda Wallace of Alderson, and Zeda Owens of Maryland. Eleven Grandchildren and Twenty Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday June 12, 2009 at Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Benny Bess and the Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to services also at the Church.
