Roger Dale Kinder, 71, of Charleston went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2023 in CAMC Memorial CPICU after a long illness.

Roger was born in Charleston on February 5, 1952 to the late Robert Lee Kinder and Thelma Miller Kinder.  In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer.

Roger worked in the Coal Mines for 20 years, then retired from CAMC with 14 years of service.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Rich Fork Baptist Church where he was baptised.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Left to cherish his memory are loving wife of 49 years, Marilyn Kinder; son, Jonathan Kinder (Christy); step-son, Jack Deason; siblings, Raymond Kinder (Sheri), and Ava Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be Noon Friday, June 30, 2023 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 Washington St. West, Charleston with Reverend Jarrod Price officiating.  Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
