Roberta Ann Bumpus 93, of Ripley, formerly of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2012. Roberta loved knitting and crocheting, liked collecting seashells, and was always kind to everybody. Proceeding her in death was her parents, Chesley and Nona Belle Kessler Whitehair; husband, Lawrence Bumpus, son Robert A. Bumpus, Sr., and sisters, Nancy Christy, Mildred Gump and Margie Sharp. Survivors include son, Donnie Lee Bumpus of Ripley; daughter-in-law, Kristina K. Bumpus of Ripley; brothers, John Whitehair of Tip City, Ohio and Chesley Whitehair of Charlotte, North Carolina. Grandchildren, Robert Bumpus, Jr., and Kevin Bumpus. Great Grandchildren, Amber Marie Bumpus and Cherokee Bumpus. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday August 22, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William K. Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
