Robert Eugene Winter, 87, of Dunbar passed away January 19, 2010 at Hubbard Hospice House. He was a Millwright with Union Carbide Corporation for over 30 years. He was a Navy Veteran, having served in the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters and a member of the U.S. Navy Armed Guard; Independent Order of the Odd fellows; Kanawha Lodge #25, where he was Past Noble Grand; 32nd Degree Mason; and member of Dunbar Lodge 159; Scottish Rite Bodies; Order of the Eastern Star; International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. and Minnie Smith Winter; brothers, Wesley, Arthur and Garrett Winter, and sister, Josephine Winter. Surviving him is his wife of 38 years Patricia McVey Winter; daughters, Brenda Shettler and husband Ernie of Cottageville, Bobbi Coon, and Suzann Runyon and husband Chuck all of Charleston. Grandchildren, SSgt, Jeremiah Coon and wife Erika of Lee Center, New York; Jaclyn Coon and her Fiancé Charley Hartley of Morgantown; Matthew and Megan Gibson of Sissonville. Great Grandchildren, Taetum, Hunter, Brigette, Cheyenne, Brady, Hailey and Max. Nephew Jimmy Winter and Great Nephews, Rick, Rodney, and Rusty Winter. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday January 22, 2009 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Oakey Harless officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Rites provided by American Legion Post 61 Clendenin, and Masonic Graveside Rites provided by Dunbar Lodge #159 will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
