IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Vincent

January 14, 1949 – April 5, 2023
We are sad to announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Vincent Vanderbilt, Jr. of Charleston, WV.
He died at age 74 on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 after battling illness, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Robert was born in Asbury, NJ to Robert Vincent Vanderbilt, Sr. and Emma Florence Crouse. He grew up in Washington, NJ and then attended West Virginia Institute of Technology. He eventually retired from M&M Mars in Hackettstown, NJ where he worked as a microbiologist for over 20 years. He had an enthusiasm for learning about everything and even went back to school and received an Associate's degree from Warren County Community College in Washington, NJ. He was most passionate about Jeet Kune Do, a martial arts philosophy created by Bruce Lee. Robert trained and practiced Jeet Kune Do around the country, and even owned and operated a school in Washington, NJ. Robert had a deep love for music, especially rock and roll, that he passed down to his children. In more recent years, he enjoyed volunteering as an usher at the Clay Center and Civic Center Little Theater, enjoying various performances and meeting people. He did not know a stranger and enjoyed listening to people's life stories and getting to know just about anyone.
