Obituary

Robert D. Moffett, passed away June 19, 2009 at Arbors of Gallipolis, where he spent two glorious weeks with family and friends by his side. He was a WW II Army veteran, and was retired from Stork Baking Company. He was a faithful member of Valley View Baptist Chapel, where he served as Deacon, he also attended the Charleston Mountain Mission morning broadcast services. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Cole Moffett; son, Roger D. Moffett; parents, Opal Moffett Cole and Opie Moffett; brother, Ronald Moffatt; and sister, Arbutus Morris. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Gary Stutler of Vinton, Ohio, Sharon and Cirrilo Rojas of Plant City, Florida, and Darlene and Wally Buettner of Springfield, Ohio; brothers, James E. Cole and wife, Vickie, and Steve Cole all of Cross Lanes; sisters Betty Jones and husband, David of Ravenswood, and Shirley Cole Welch of Texas; grandchildren, Roger Moffett, II, Jeremiah Moffett, Melanie Stutler, Kenny Beasley, Tammy Wolf, Bobby Buettner, and Timmy Buettner; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday June 23, 2009 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Evangelist Paul R. Rice, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Robert loved serving His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and his family requests, in lieu of flowers a donation be made to his beloved Valley View Baptist Chapel, 4894 West Washington Street, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
