Robert Gene Harper, Sr. Robert Gene Harper, Sr., 67, of Charleston passed away at home July 31, 2010 after a long illness. He was a US Army veteran. Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Dawn Harper. Surviving are; his wife, Carolyn Reese Harper; sons, Robert Gene Harper, Jr. and wife, Amanda of Charleston, and William Lee Harper and wife, Tammy of Tyler Mountain; brother, Howard Harper, Jr. of Charleston; grandchildren, Joseph Gibson, Brandon Harper, Nicholas Harper, Courtney Morton, Ileigha Harper and McKenzie O'Brien. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston with the Rev. William K. Berry officiating. Burial will be in Harkins cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 3 at the funeral home.
