Rev. Robert "Bob" Fields 79 of Charleston crossed over Jordan Wednesday August 13, 2014 at 4:14 AM and met Jesus just inside the Eastern Gate. He was a member of Teamsters Local #175 and retired from Criss and Shaver Concrete. Bob pastored churches in the Kanawha Valley which included Davis Memorial Missionary Baptist, Tuppers Valley Missionary Baptist Church and last pastored at Two Mile Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 23 years. Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by son, David Fields; parents James and Velma Fields; brother Junior Fields and sister, Hazel Goff. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Opal Shamblin Fields; daughters; Becky Nelson and husband Derreck, Beth McClanahan and husband Virgil, Leah Ballard and husband Ed and Rachel Parsons and husband Randall; sons, Mark, R. Jonathan and Adam Fields. Grandchildren; Amanda, Alyssa and Grant Ballard; Danielle McClanahan; Rylee and Reagan Fields and Noah and Cooper Parsons. Brothers, Obbie Fields and wife Mabel and Butch Fields. Sisters, Loraine Goff and Ruby Bradley. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday August 17, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. William "Bill" Berry and Rev. Travis Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in John Beane Cemetery, Sissonville. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home.
