Robert J Brewer, 89, passed away Friday, March 29th, 2013 at his home in Quick, West Virginia. Born on June 28th, 1923, in Omar, WV to the late Lyda Mae Thomas and Robert Brewer, he began working in the coalmines at age 19. He married Betty J Mcfarland on August 14th, 1948 in Charleston, WV. Together Robert and Betty had three sons and two daughters. Robert finished is education while working the mines and began working in TV repair. At the age of 57, he opened his own business, Brewer TV, where he worked until he was able to retire at the age of 62. Robert and Betty were married for 47 years until her death in 1991. Sisters Lorriane Hammon and Virginia M. Cutright, as well as sons Billy R. and Larry E. Brewer preceded his death. He is survived by sister Betty J. Kinder and brother Edward Brewer. Daughters Teresa (Timmy) Mace, Karen (Paul) Mace, and son Davy. Also surviving are grandchildren Lynn (Tracy) Davenport, Heather (Mike) Nutter, TJ Mace, Danny (Brandy) Mace, Wendy (Gary) Cross, Amy Mace, Penney (Mark) Todd, Troy Atkins, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Monday, April 1st, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker & Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 Washington St., W. Charleston, WV 25302 with the Rev. Burt Hall of Loudendale Free Will Baptist Church who will perform burial rites on Monday, April 1st, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with internment immediately following at Clendenin Memorial Park. With the honorary pallbearers being Paul Mace, Danny Mace, TJ Mace, Paul Cross, Dustan Cross, and Scott Christenberry. All family and friends are invited to come celebrate Robert's life.
