Robert W. "Bill" Moles Robert W. "Bill" Moles, 81, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord, January 27, 2012, after a courageous battle with lung disease, surrounded by his loving family. Robert, or Bill as everyone knew him, was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a dear friend to many. He loved bluegrass music and played guitar for a few groups over the years, mainly, The Elk River Boys, and The Kanawha Valley Bluegrass Boys. He retired from Harris Brothers Roofing and Sheet Metal with 40 years of service. He enjoyed his work, and his customers would always ask for him by name, because of his dedication for quality work, and friendly conversation. He never met a stranger. Bill always whistled when he worked and always carried a smile. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Preceding him at the Gates are his mother and father, Mabel and Fred Moles; sister, Mary Moles Vance. Surviving are his beautiful, loving wife of 61 years, Aileen Young Moles; daughters, Nancy Walton and husband, Jim, Becky Fox, Terri Russell and husband Tim; grandsons, Jamie Walton and wife Amanda, Robbie Walton and wife, Amanda, and Brandon Fox; great-grandchildren, Austin Walton, Kalie Walton, Mary Oxley, Ashley Oxley and Kimberly Oxley, all of Charleston; brothers, Ivan Moles and James Moles both of Elkview; sister, Kathryn Minner of Melbourne, Florida; and special niece and her husband, Diana and Roger Burdette. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor Clarence Hutton officiating.
