Richard Alan Wright, Sr. age 69, passed away peacefully at home May 6, 2025. Richard was a retired construction supervisor and a member of the United States Steelworkers Local 14614. He was the son of the late Richard Wright and Phyllis Wright; he was also preceded in death by a sister, Karen Peck; brother, Robert Wright; and step-son, Lucas Abernathy. Surviving is his wife, Carolyn Wright; daughters, Susan Black (Brian), Kandace Pickett; son, Richard Alan Wright, Jr. (Virginia) ; step-son, Donald Abernathy (Kimberly) ; sisters, Jean Holley (James), Janet Creasy, Donna Harkins (Lee), Barbara Truman, Elaine Jarrell (Fred), Patty Wright; brothers, Kenny Wright (Barbara), Rodney Wright (Patty), James Wright (Rebecca), Dale Wright; beloved grandchildren, Hayden and Kinsley Wright, Donald Abernathy III (Trey), Nicholas Abernathy (Madison), Katlyn Abernathy, Samantha Abernathy, Bobby Townes, Hope, T.J., Tiffany, Justin, and Tabitha Baugh; as well as multiple great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday May 12th, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Cunningham Parker and Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt Moriah Baptist Cemetery in Hurricane WV.
