Richard A. "Rick" Burdette, Sr., 72 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on December 28 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House.
Rick was a retired foreman with The West Virginia American Water Company with 30 years of service. He was a former member of the Board of Directors with the United Way Foundation and was a volunteer with the United Food Operation, former member of the West Virginia Labor Council and a member of the AFL-CIO. He attended Charleston Mountain Mission. Loved spending time at Gary Thomas Camp and spreading the Lord's Gospel.
Preceding Rick in death were his parents, Romie and Doris Burdette and brother Larry Burdette, foster mothers, Ann and Mary Coats, of Kanawha City.
Survivors include his son, Richard A. Burdette, Jr., of Charleston; daughter, Deana Lyun Burdette of Charleston; brother, Phillip Burdette of Charleston; sisters Carol Jones of Dunbar, Loretta Thomas of Charleston and Jacquelyn Boggess of Charleston. Grandchildren, Blake Burdette, Rikayla Coiner, Ricky Lee Bowles and Eathan Holmes.
Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday January 2, 2018 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Reed officiating. Committal Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Mausoleum Chapel at the Cemetery. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services.
