Richard "Jr." Lee Payne, 72, of Sissonville, went home to be with the lord Friday December 8, 2023 at CAMC General Division surrounded by family.

He retired from KRT as a diesel mechanic with 37 years of service. He was a member of Silas Gospel Tabernacle. After retiring he enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren. He loved deer hunting and cat fishing.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Audrey (Sis) V. Payne, and Richard E. Payne, Brother Roger D. Payne.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Kathy Payne, sons Jeremy L. Payne, and Jonathan Payne, grandchildren Ethan, Kyleigh, McKinley, Kayden, Karley, Kamron and Elaina Parsons, sister Nadine (Junior) Hershman, brother Billy (Teresa) Payne, and several loving nieces and nephews.
