Raymond C. "Ray" Gould went to heaven Sunday November 20, 2016. He was born in Ithaca, NY, to the Rev. and Mrs. L.E. Gould on June 28, 1926. He was preceded by his daughter Sandra and brothers Hal and Ken.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 72 years, Kitty of Charleston, a daughter Deborah Jackson of Charleston, son, Richard of Cincinnati, son, Scott of Charleston, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Ray attended Huntington High School, and was a W.W. II Veteran. He was an honor graduate of Marshall University. He pursued numerous careers before becoming employed by The C&P Telephone (now Verizon). During his 38 year telephone career he held management positions in Charleston, Beckley, Martinsburg and Fairmont where he was very active in Civic Affairs. In Charleston he was a member of the Civil Service Commission and served on the State Police Advisory Committee. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of the Morris Memorial Methodist Church serving on a number of Committees as Lay Person.
A Memorial service will be held at Morris Memorial with Rev. Mark Flynn officiating on Tuesday November 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Morris Memorial Methodist Church, 4615 MacCorkle Avenue SE, Charleston, WV 25304.
