The Reverend Raymond Paul Anderson, 82 of St. Albans, a "soldier of the cross", gloriously crossed the finish line of his race in peaceful victory, May 1, 2010 surrounded by his family. Raymond was born in Charleston, WV on February 11, 1928. He was the son of the late Henry & Cecile Anderson. Raymond was a minister of the Apostolic Pentecostal church. He is a former pastor of the Kanawha City Apostolic Church, Glad Tidings Apostolic Church, Keystone Apostolic Church and North Charleston Apostolic Church, all of the Charleston, WV area. Raymond was a US Navy veteran. He retired from Cedar Coal Co., and was a former employee of Mack Truck. He was a former adult literacy teacher. He was a member of the St. Albans United Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Rose, and brother, Harold. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Teloa and Jerry Tackett of Zanesville, OH; Becky and Danny Anderson of Charleston, WV; Kaye and Eddie Johnson of Kingsport, TN; Paula and Randy Witt of Charleston, WV; a brother Clayton and wife Patricia Anderson of Gainesville, FL and a sister Lucille and husband John Bennett of Tallahassee, FL; nine grandchildren: Kimberly and Brad Christian, Crystal Bush, Tim and Melody Johnson, Candace Tackett, Cyndi Raye and Aaron Bounds, Benjamin Bush, Nathan Johnson, Tiphanii and Justin Meadors, Justin and Christi Witt; seven great-grandchildren: Mason, Austin, Laken, Arry'Ana, Sawyer, Brendan, Jillian; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at the North Charleston Apostolic Church, 2400 6th Ave., Charleston, WV 25312 with the Reverend Aaron Bounds & Pastor Stephen Neese officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Dunbar, WV. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 9 pm Monday May 3, 2010, and one hour prior to service time Tuesday at North Charleston Apostolic Church.
