Ray B. Mitchell, 80, of Charleston passed away September 30, 2016 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Abner and Vesta Mitchell; son Ricky Mitchell; son-in-law, Don Jackson; brother, Ancil A. Mitchell, Jr.; sisters, Eula Buckalew, Marjorie Casdorph and Hazel Young. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Debbie Jackson; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Mitchell; grandsons, Wesley Mitchell and Brandon Mitchell and wife Allison Mitchell; great grandchildren, Katie and Kendon Mitchell. He was a longtime dedicated educator, teacher, principal, administrator, superintendent, RESA director for the State of West Virginia. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday October 4, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor William K. Berry officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Rites provided by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home. A special thanks to Bob, Kelley and Marshall Buckalew for being there always.
