Ray Browning, 78, of Charleston, passed away June 20, 2009 at his home. He was preceded in death by sons, Johnny Ray Browning, and Gary Lee Browning; granddaughter, Joanna Louise Browning; parents, Vincent and Marjorie Graley Browning; twin brother, Raymond Lee Browning, brother, Jimmy Browning; sister, Betty Medley. Ray was a member of Teamsters Local No. 175 for 25 years, and retired from West Virginia Motor Delivery with 25 years of service. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, and neighbors who would see him daily sitting on his porch swing. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Sarah Louise Hill Browning; daughters, Karen Compton and husband James, Sharon Lynn Light and companion Brett Layne; sisters-in-law, Frances Mullins and Pauline Kessinger; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Ray's wishes were to be cremated. To celebrate Ray's life there will be a gathering of family and friends from 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his daughter's house, 881 Hanna Drive, Charleston.
