Phyllis Joan Surface 82 of Walton passed away June 28, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. Phyllis was a retired chemical operator with E.I. DuPont, Belle and was a former employee with FMC Ordinance Center and the Coca Cola Bottling Plant. She was also a faithful member of Queen Shoals Full Gospel Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, Clarence Joseph and Ina Teter Allen; loving husband, Rev. Ayward Addison Godbey, Jr.; son, Robert M. Godbey; brothers, Bill and Lou Allen and her sister, Betty Wolfeskill. Survivors include her loving sons, Ronald A. Godbey and wife Crystal of Charleston, and Dana J. Godbey and wife Katrina of Clay; grandchildren, Kimberly Godbey, Michael Godbey, Sheri Barker, Amy Thompson, Joseph Godbey. Nikki Godbey, Nathan Godbey and Tiffany Long; 20 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a host of family and friend left to mourn her passing. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Means officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Cemetery, Johnson Creek, Walton, WV. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home.
