Obituary

Phyllis Jean Little, 88, of Boise, Idaho (formerly of Charleston, WV), passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2024. A devoted homemaker with a kind heart and a love for life's simple pleasures, Phyllis will be remembered for her warmth, curiosity, and gentle spirit. Phyllis had a way with making new friends everywhere she went and her smile brought joy to everyone. She also spent many joyful hours in the company of her beloved cat, Penny.

A graduate of horticulture training, she brought life and beauty to everything she touched. Earlier in her life, Phyllis contributed to her community through her work with Goodwill Industries, Mountain Mission, and rang bells for the Salvation Army before dedicating herself to raising her cherished daughter, Virginia.  She was also very active in her church for many years. She missed her many friends from the Salvation Army Citadel Chapel in Charleston after her move to Idaho. Phyllis often told stories of their time together while travelling with the Golden Ager's group and fellowship she cherished each Sunday.

Phyllis is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Virginia Carden; son-in-law, Rich Carden; granddaughters, Jacy Stevens (husband Paul) and Miranda Owen (husband Dylan); and four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Silas, Mila and Jack, who brought light to her later years. She was a beacon of love and inspiration to all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral in Charleston. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a celebration of her life at 1:00 PM. Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a deep appreciation for life's small joys. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends but will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
