Paul B. Holmes, 80, of Sissonville, passed away on January 18, 2016 at CAMC Memorial Division. Mr. Holmes attended Morris Harvey College. He also worked for the WV Department of Highways as a Nicet Technician, retiring after 37 years of employment. Paul loved football and was the founder of the Sissonville Redskins. He also enjoyed Mountaineer football and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luddie and Betty Walker Holmes; daughter, Terri K. Edens; sister, Hazel Holmes; and brothers, Bud, Jim, Short, Bill, Oscar and Frankie Holmes. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Lou Holmes; daughter, Vicki L. Edens and companion, James Loar of Charleston; step-son, Jack D. Coon and companioin, Robin Stewart of Kenna; sisters, Pearl Harmon and husband Dola and Salome Walker both of Sissonville; grandchildren, J.P. Edens and wife, Jamie of Martinsburg, Jeremiah Coon of NY, and Jaclyn Hartley and husband, Charlie of Ft. Myers, FL; great-grandchildren, Allivia and Ally Edens, Taetum, Hunter, Cheyenne and Brigitte Coon, and Brady, Hailey and Max Hartley of Ft. Myers; special nieces, Shirley Boggs of Ohio and Kathy Asbury of Sissonville; and special nephews, Kevin Harman and Ricky Harmon both of NC, and Danny Walker and Edward Harmon both of Sissonville. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Following entombment, the Edens family invites all who wish to attend to a gathering at The Top Spot to celebrate Paul's memory.
