Our hearts are deeply saddened by the passing of Pansy "Mae" Thaxton Jordan, this Christian lady who touched all of us in some special way during her 82 years here with us. She faithfully worshipped the Lord and attended church until her long and painful struggle with Colon Cancer took her from us, and returned her to our Heavenly Father on the 10th day of September 2012 at the Hubbard Hospice House. Thank God her soul is resting, thank God for all who loved her and Praise God who loved her best. She was born September 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Ben and Bertha Thaxton of Sissonville. She was also preceded in death by her youngest child, Gary Jordan, grandson, Travis Jordan and brothers, Raymond, Calvin, Buddy and Junior Thaxton, all of Sissonville. She is survived by her very devoted and much-loving husband of 61 years, Kermit Jordan of Martins Branch; children, daughter, Charlene Ashley and husband Bill; son, Kenneth Jordan and wife Debbie all of Sissonville, son, Joey Jordan and wife Joyce "Pratt" of Cross Lanes, Additional survivors are sister, Eunice Burdette, brothers, Earl Thaxton, Garland Thaxton and wife Faye of Sissonville, Owen Thaxton and wife Lola of Tupper's Creek, Ten Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. The family expresses sincere gratitude for the physical and spiritual comfort and loving care provided by Kanawha Hospice both at home and on the North Wing of the Hubbard Hospice House during her final days. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to these gracious, much needed and most deserving facilities and staff. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday September 12, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Means officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to services also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the home of Kermit Jordan, 1923 Martins Branch Road following the burial.
