P. Ellen Rhea, 85, of Charleston passed away August 20, 2011, at Dunbar Care and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was a homemaker, attended Dunbar Mountain Mission Church, and loved to Quilt. She was preceded in death by her parents Elbert M. and Emma P. Elswick Fisher; and sister, Dorothy Nichols. Ellen is survived by her son, Walter Rhea of Charleston; sisters, Verda M. Nuzum of Parkersburg and Irene McCormick of Chattanooga, TN; grandsons, Harold and Alan Rhea, and one great grandson, Alexander Rhea. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Dunbar Care and Rehab for the care given to Ellen. Funeral service will be Monday August 22, 2011, at 1:00 PM at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
