Osdell Irvin Slater Osdell Irvin Slater 82 of Charleston passed away March 18, 2013 at CAMC General after a long illness. He retired from Village Apts. in Kanawha City after 38 years of hard work. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy; son, Charles; parents, Osdell and Florence Slater; brothers, Nathan, Teddy and Joe Slater and sister, Beulah Clendenin. Survivors include his sons, Osdell, Jr. and wife Sheila and Bobby Slater of Charleston; Blaine and wife Patty of South Carolina; daughters, Flora Myers and husband Larry, Gloria Pauley and husband Joe and Faye Carr and husband Harry all of Charleston; brothers, James Slater and wife Thelma, Harold Slater and wife Vicki; sisters, Grace Elswick, Virgie Facemyer, Betty Estep and Linda Ennis and husband John all of Charleston. 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great- great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loves him. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday March 22, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the Hope Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
