Orel "O.G." Ferrell of Sissonville passed away at the age of 98 peacefully on Friday evening,
October 8, surrounded by his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, and under the watchful
care of the Arthur B. Hodges Center.He is preceded in death by five brothers, one sister, and
his former wife Margaret B. Ferrell.He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Namihas of Las
Vegas, Nevada, a son, David (Crystal), of Oakton, Virginia, and a granddaughter, Linden Ferrell.
The son of William P. Ferrell and Eva (Casto) Ferrell, O.G. was born on June 14, 1923.He was
an Army Staff Sergeant medic during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater.After the War O.
G. joined the DuPont Corporation where he was employed in the Nylon Works Lab for over 40
years until his retirement.He was a beloved and very active member of the Charleston Seventh-
Day Adventist (SDA) Church where he served as Head Elder and in other positions.He was a
dedicated fan of the WVU Mountaineers.A viewing will be held on Monday, October 18 at 11
AM at the SDA Church located at 622 Kanawha Boulevard.The service will be at noon
followed by a burial at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes.In lieu of flowers
