Obituary

Nelma Lyndal Petry 86 of Sissonville went home to be with the Lord January 11, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West. Nelma was a member of Charleston Mountain Mission Church where she sang in the choir. Nelma was preceded in death by her husband's Oather Finny, Charles Hanna and Emmett Petry; parents Wilbur and Maude Cavender; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Hobert Underwood, Lila Haynes Harding and Bill Haynes, Kermit Clendenin and brother, Wilbur Marion "Red" Cavender, Jr. Survivors include her sister, Janet Clendenin, brother-in-law, Averd "Jake" Harding and sister-in-law, Sylvia Cavender all of Charleston. Stepson and wife, Craig and Lori Petry of Charleston, step-daughters, Linda Copley of Charleston, Brenda Petry of St. Albans and Elizabeth Petry of Florida. Step-grandchildren, Evan and Myka Petry, Sarah Copley, Kenneth, Jr. and Suzanne Bridges and Aaliyah Petry. Step-great grandchildren, Faraji and Suvannah Bridges and several beloved nephews and nieces who are also left to mourn her passing. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William K. Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests Memorial donations to: Charleston Mountain Mission Church, 1600 Seventh Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387 or Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W.
