Minnie Marie McKinney Sneed, 93, left this old flesh behind November 27, 2011 arriving for homecoming with family and friends. She was born December 4, 1917, when the mountains of Wyoming County welcomed her into the "Singing Joe" and Rebecca Ann (Hunt") McKinney clan that soon numbered ten girls and four boys. Two sisters now remain Versie Lusk of Bud, and Lola Squyers of New Mexico. Coming from a singing family, there was always music - on the porch, in the yard, and at the neighbors. Mostly though it was at church and reunions. Serving the Lord Jesus Christ and loving each other was their calling this side of heaven. She was thrilled to walk twice in Israel where her Savior walked. Today she walks with Him, being with Christian brothers and sisters. As a member of Bible Center Church Minnie loved being in church best of all. If you didn't know Jesus don't be around her long for she wanted everyone to know Him and go to Heaven. Her favorite quote was "Oh, to be like thee"..... and like Jesus, .. she was. God has spared our family from sorrows of death much of our lives but four preceded Mom, Her loving husband, Charles Edward, left us in 1984. A Grandson, Ricky Joseph in 1997. She and Charles were the founders of Sneed's Vacuum and Sewing Center, Charleston. Eight Grandchildren plus 23 Great Grandchildren, Michael ( 8), Ricky ( 5), Scott and Dad, Larry, Todd ( 7), Hope, Jeff ( 6), Charles ( 6), Stacy (Todd), and Laura (Jimmy) ( 2)...
