It has pleased almighty God in his wise providence to summon from the earthly existence to himself the soul of his faithful servant. Merlin departed his earthly existence on May 28, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House. By the grace of God he attained the age of 86. Born in Lincoln County he was the youngest of 11 children, his mother Emma past away giving birth to him, Father was George Stowers, he was rasied by his ½ sister Laura Nelson.(husband Dave) other siblings Clay, Hallie, Allord, Harold, Goldie, Lucille, Garnet and Lola.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Darlena Miller Stowers, his children, Beverly Stevens, husband Richard, Naoma Fisher, husband Tim, Randall Stowers, wife Debbie. Grandchildren, Erica Crouse, husband Travis, Carrie Casto, husband Jeremy, Christa Rosier,
husband Ryan, Chris Stowers, wife Beth. Ten Great Grandchildren, Charisma and Tyler Crouse, Jordyn and Jayse Casto, Landon, Colton and Aubrey Rosier, Hunter, Katie and Savannah Stowers. Ethen Copley was not a grandchild by blood but certainly a loving companion since birth.
Merlin was a devoted christian and member of the Sugar Creek Baptist Church for 44 years, he loved to sing in the choir and served as a trustee. He will be forever remembered by all and will greet us all as we enter into our heavenly home to be with him forever more.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 1, 2018 at Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday May 31, also at the church.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Given, WV.
