Melvin Stewart Hunter, Sr., 70, of Charleston passed away January 14, 2022 at CAMC Memorial Hospice Care.

He was a Brick Mason with Local Union #9, and had owned his own business.He loved Hunting, Fishing, spending time with the family and FOX News.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Edith Kidd Hunter; brothers, Robert Lee Hunter and Steven Edward Hunter.

Surviving him is his loving wife of 53 years, Dawn Hunter; son, Melvin Stewart Hunter, Jr.; daughter, Mandy Starr Skeens; grandchildren, Zachary Hunter, Savannah Hunter, Hunter Skeens, Haven Skeens and Holden Skeens.Brother Gregory Hunter and sister-in-law, Darlina; sister, Charlotte Harper and brother-in-law, Thomas Harper; brother-in-law, Dennis Davis and sister-in-law, Delcy Davis; mother-in-law, Thelma Davis and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who are also left to mourn his passing.

Memorial Services will be 4:00 PM Friday January 21, 2022 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Seth Polk officiating.Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services.In keeping with his wishes his body will be cremated.
