Melvin Harrison, 81, of Sissonville peacefully went home to be with the Lord September 13, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family and his precious little dog "Faith". He was born October 14, 1933 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, son of the late Ervin and Chloe Mae Harrison. Melvin married his one and only love Rosetta Mae Haynes. Melvin served his country in The National Guard. He worked as a Dental Tech at Tincher's Dental Lab in Charleston. Melvin enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Baseball and Football. He was a fan of The Cincinnati Reds and supported The Sissonville Indians. Preceding him in death were his wife Rosetta Mae in 2014, sons, Jerry and Eddie Harrison, sisters, Irene Thaxton, Inez Burford and Myrtle Hunt, brothers, Hobert and Norbert Harrison and Elvin "BIg Bud" Harrison, his twin brother, and his parents Ervin and Chloe Harrison. Survivors include his children Terry Parsons and husband James of Charleston, Teddy Harrison and wife Debbie and Sheila Good and husband Michael all of Sissonville, sisters, Karen Hunt and Justina Fowler all of Charleston. 10 Grandchildren, Shad Harrison of Tampa, FL, Michelle Harrison Rogof of Jacksonville, FL, Tara Harrison Ferrier of Locust, NC, Mark Harrison of Charlotte, NC, Travis Harrison of Sissonville, Eddie Harrison of Sissonville, Jessica Parsons Carr of Morgantown, Robin Parsons of Charleston, Sabrina Provenzano of Sissonville and Melissa Provenzano of Kenna, 21 Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday September17, 2015 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Michael W. Good officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to services also at the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Graveside Rites provided by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin, will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.
