Melissa Dawn Bailey 45, of Charleston WV passed away on Thursday October 2nd 2025. Our hearts are shattered as we share the loss of, Melissa Bailey, who passed away unexpectedly. Her life was not an easy one, she faced more hardship and heartache than most could imagine but she carried it all with quiet strength, fierce love, and a special sense of humor that could light up any room. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, granddaughter, and wife. No matter how heavy her own burdens were, she was always there for her children, her grandbabies, her mom, and her husband. She gave everything she had, her time, her laughter, her warmth even when she had little left to give. She was a woman who never stopped showing up for the people she loved no matter what was happening in her own life.

Melissa was preceded in death by her children's father  Shannon Bailey, her grandparents Carmen and John McDonugh, and her granddaughter Ceciliya Kirk.

Melissa is survived by her mother's  Carolyn Moore, and Pamela Jewell, her companion for many years Michael Stauffer, grandmother Dixie Simon, daughters, Brooke Bailey, Amber Bailey Taylor, and Alisha Dawn Bailey, her grandchildren Carter Kirk, Hazel Kirk, Averie Taylor, Bowe Taylor, Ellynor Kirk, Remington Taylor, Tavon Austin Kirk, Cleo Kirk, and Syrus Bailey.

Per Melissa's wishes she will be cremated.
